05.07.15. Beginners 2. Lateral painting a circle with the arm of the lady and left turn.

Hi!

Today we learn an easy combination for the beginners. The idea is to do the lateral step and a left turn but in a cool way.

Important for the ladies: Go your third step on the spot and let you arms stretched for this moves.

For the guys:

  1. Leading the lateral you bring your lady first to your right and after that you change the grip of your left hand (the thumb goes down).
  2. You lead the next lateral and after that you turn to your right. At the end of your turn you need to be a little bit far away of the lady to feel the tension of her arm.
  3. You lead the next lateral and with your right arm you will paint on 3 a circle with the arm of the lady (watch the video).
  4. You lead the turn of the lady but you keep the contact with the lady with your right hand.

05.07.15. Beginners 2. Take care about your posture: shoulders down, pelvis to the front and closing the ribs.

Hi!

Today we are speaking about an important matter for your posture while dancing zouk. It’s about bringing your shoulders and your pelvis in a line (shoulders down and pelvis to the front) and to contract your center closing your ribs. In zouk we do alot of crazy things but with control and tension in our body.

01.07.15. Intermediate. Elastic and Chassé after a left turn on the line.

Hi!

With this step you can have a nice effect in the music.

Turn on the line.

Guys: Pull the lady into the line and turn her with the left hand up and the right hand down.

Ladies: Do your steps on the line and try to close your legs.

Preparation for the chassé.

Guys: You are leading a elastic with your body, going first with the hips to the side. Your right under arm is in the low back of the lady and it will go little by little up. Ladies, you go first with your hips, then with your chest and at last with your head.

Chassé.

Guys and ladies: wacht the video to see the chassé steps. Guys: In the middle of the preparation you will go faster and with more energy (watch the video) for the lady to understand, that something special is coming. You are close to the lady and you are bringing the lady with you. For the ladies: if you go up, don’t bring your head back but focus on your partner.

01.07.15. Beginners 2. Be sensitiv about the hair of the lady.

Dear guys: Be sensitive if the lady lady has the hair on her face and help her to get it out.

Variation 1: Elastic going backwards.

Guys: You go with your right to the front but you don’t transfer the weight to your right, stay on your left. Watch the video to understand, that the leading is like a circle. Ladies: You will back with your left leg but at the beginning you don’t transfer the weight to your left (the guy doesn’t let you go to your left). First go with your chest to the front and after that with your head. If you are down it’s important that you connect your hand with your upper body to feel the leading of the guy.

Variation 2. Chassé going backwards and elastic.

Now we want to do a chassé. Watch the video to see the steps. Guys, at the beginning you need some energy with a preparation down and going up after that. On two you will lead the lady like in a circle (watch the video) for her to bend to the front and on 3 you go with your right foot to the front but you don’t transfer the weight (you will do it little by little). Ladies, on 2 you bend to the front, first with your chest, then you go with your head. From here everything is like in variation 2.

The first three steps.

Opening like lateral but at the end the lady doesn’t come back, she is crossing backwards (and the guys are crossing  forwards). Ladies: You cross backwards with the right but your upper body has a torsion to the left. Guys: You can lead this torsion.

 

Left turn.

Normal steps for the lady. For the guys: We go to the right with the lady and then we cross backwards. Your right hand has contact with the lady the hole time.

 

The beginning of the next three steps.

Guys: You want to lead this steps in the line, now you has to cross to the street to the other side.
