13.05.15. Beginners. Easy head movements staying in front of the lady.

Hi!

If you are at the beginning of a song and you don’t have any beat in the music, you can try today’s combination.

Guys:

  • Bring your right hand slowly over the head of the lady.
  • Playing with the shoulders you can lead the head of the lady from one side to the other.
  • Your right hand doesn’t touch her neck while leading.
  • The left hand will help the hole time. The left hand goes up if the lady has the head to her left and goes down if the lady has the head to her right.

Ladies:

  • Transfer the weight with your head. If your head is on your right side, you are on your right foot.
  • Put your chest in. In this way the head should stay over your center in the middle of the head movement.
  • If your head is on the side, your nose is to the front.

06.05.15. Intermediate. Preparation for the cambré and circles with the upper body. At the end a turn on the line with head.

Hi!

Ladies: Playing in circles with the upper body is always a chance to stretch your body. We are talking about the opposite side.

Today we do the preparation for the cambré but we want to lead a circle with the upper body. After that to go around of the lady. For the beginning of the circle, guys, you lead it with your upper body and you play with the shoulders of the lady. Ladies, go with your right foot to the right if the guy is leading your shoulders in this direction.

Stretch! For the circles with the upper body you have to grow, to be big, to stretch your body.

At the end the lady is doing a turn on the line with head. Guys, the first step you are bringing the lady to the front. Ladies, you stay with your head to the left side. The second step guys you lead the head to the front and let your left hand slide till you have the right hand of the lady and you bring her up on 3. Ladies, if your head is to the front, your chest is in and your head is over your center. If you go with the head to the front you will lose your balance.

06.05.15. Beginners 2. Three possibilities for the lateral behind the lady.

Hi!

It’s very nice if you have more than one possibility for every step. In this way you can always play with the music and at the same time the lady doesn’t know what’s coming and she learns to follow better.

Today we are doing the lateral with the guy behind the lady. We give you three possibilities:

  • A normal wave.
  • An elastic.
  • A cambré.

For the guys: Try to lead with your body and check if the lady is following you.

For the ladies: Keep the connection with the hands of the guy, it’s very easy to lose the contact here.

29.04.15. Beginners 2. Men’s styling. Lateral footwork 1.

Today we did some men’s styling. Stylign are special moves you can do without disturbing the leading.

For the first footwork is very important for you to understand the timing. The second one is just sliding by 1.

29.04.15. Intermediate. Table cambré from lateral.

Hi everybody!

There is some special moves that you can dance if the music gets slow and today’s step is very cool for it.

Guys:

You will do your steps on the line and you will go a little bit up on 2 for the lady to understand that she needs a preparation up. You will let the lady go down and try to put both arms to the side. You lead the lady slowly down and up. If she goes up, you will do that she transfer the weight to her left before you open to your left.

Ladies:

At the beginning you will go up. You are doing a table cambré, so you go with your botton to your heels, you look to the front and your chest is in. For going up, press with your hips up, open your chest and let the head go a little bit back.

22.04.15. Beginners. Lateral crossing backwards for both.

Hi everybody!

Today we learn a very easy move for beginners to give you more possibilities with the basics.

Guys: If you are leading the lady think first, what you want that the lady do. Yoou want that the lady cross backwards. Play with your upperbody to give her the idea of crossing backwards. If she crosses with the left you bring your upper body to the left and if she crosses with the the right, you turn your upper body to the right.

Ladies: Try to focus with your upper body to your partner. If your partner is turning you, come back to him and do your third step on the spot.

15.04.15. Beginners 2 / Intermediate. Pendulum after bumerangue.

Hi everybody!

Today we did one of my favourites pendulums.

Guys, you will lead the long left turn on the line (bumerangue). While leading the Bumerangue you go the first three steps around the lady and after that you will turn to the left, crossing to the other side. From hier you have to feel the tension with the arm of the lady, bring the lady to the front and after that lead the pendulum of the lady with your left hand. If the lady is down, you support the lady with your right hand on her right shoulder blade. Then you lead cambré as usual. You will lead the new variation with the snake with both hands. Think about to lead the shoulders of the lady.

Ladies. For the pendulum: If you feel the hand of the guy on your shoulder blade, get the arm of the guy with your left hand. For the pendulum you can check this link:

Don’t forget the preparation for your cambré. For the snake watch the video to see how to play with your head, your shoulders and your chest. The guy is leading your shoulders. If you go with your head to the front, your chest is in. If you go with your head back your chest goe sto the front.

15.04.15. Intermediate. The steps for “the ball”.

Hi everybody!

Today we want to do the steps of “the ball”. Remember two things:

  • If you go on 1 with the left, you bend to the left. If you go on 1 with the right, you bend to the right.
  • Everytime you go a basic step, you turn 90° to the left.

Next week we will see, how to do this step with the partner.
